First random thought of the day.

How cool is it to be able to get into a stranger's car at one in the morning, not knowing in which direction home is, and trust him enough to let him take you home? Then walking home through crowds and crowds of people, by yourself, listening to your ipod, not even aware of what's going on around you.

That's Korea. Can't home be like that? We don't even have taxi's and you can NEVER just stroll and listen to your ipod. I'm going to miss this a lot! I have never felt scared, or watched or perved on. Awesome Asia. It just amazes me that you can leave your bag somewhere open and return a few hours later to find it untouched or even moved from the spot where you left it. That is the way it should be. Why does some people have to need to snatch that. It's just going to happen to them again. Vicious Circle.

I am very excited to go home, but not sure I want to live with all that again. Just the fact that you need to look over your shoulder the whole time makes me sick. We have such a lovely and beautiful country but people tend to wipe their asses on it.

Question: Is there anything we can do about it?
Answer: No

It's sad, isn't it. Hopefully one day everyone in our country will realize that we are sitting on a gold mine that needs to be experienced and shared by everyone.

Just be good x

2009 going on 2010

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!

I hope all your wishes come true and that this year will be the best one so far!! We are going to paint this place red! Are you with me?

The last day of the year started very chill with me having to teach winter camp. The camp it self was a little bit of a flop, well the last day at least, as we didn't have much to do with the kids. Nevertheless it was fun. Embarrassing actually, because I was playing musical chairs with the kids and I fell over a chair in front of everyone!

Right after school I went to Busan Station to pick up Hendrik for his first Busan visit. Later the evening Leanne and Jonathan also joined us. We had a nice and chill dinner in my flat, which consisted mainly of chicken and apple pie. We made it just out of the flat before 2010 hit us and headed towards The Vinyl Underground, a club just around the corner from the flat. As soon as we got there all of us realised that we were still way to sober to meet the new year so we started with the shots. Tequila baby!

We had such a fun night, only the six of us. All South Africans mind you!

Calling home at 12 was weird, because we just entered 2010 and back home it was still 2009. Mind blowing I tell you. For me at least :) After all the phone calls and tears we headed to the closest Noraebang (singing room) to welcome the new year properly with singing and some more beers. The Noraebang closed eventually so a few of us made our way to Kino Eye - a foreigners pub just up the road.

The three survivors stayed for some foozball and darts.

On the first we only woke up at 3 in the afternoon and I made a killer babelas breakfast for all to enjoy. After breakfast we got back to bed with a few movies. What a way to start the new year. We didn't leave the flat once.

The second we settled for some lekker shopping in the worlds biggest department store, Shinsegae and then us ladies left the guys for some well deserved pedicures. The pedicures took us about 4 hours in total, but was totally worth it.

On the third (Happy bday Wouter!!) Leanne and Jonathan went back to Cheongju and Hendrik and I eventually made our way to the beach. It was (surprizingly) a beautiful afternoon. Once we got to the beach we decided to take a 50 minute coastal boat ride to check out the diamond bridge at night. Gwangali Bridge is stunning at night, no wonder they call it the diamond bridge.

The week started off pretty normal. I started my second winter camp at another school with a friend of mine. I really enjoy teaching at that school. The kids are extremely nice and well mannered and the classes are geared with all kinds of cool stuff.

Anyways I see good things happening this year and I wish you guys all the best! Keep reading and keep me posted. 18 sleeps till Thailand!!!! Can't wait sick of the cold! Enjoy the sun at home!

Love and miss all of you! x
